How it works

Three steps, and none of them are yours to build.

You do not need a website, a developer or a designer. You need a menu, which you already have, and a few minutes to tell us about your shop.

  1. One

    You send us your menu

Email it, WhatsApp it, or photograph the one on the wall. We do the typing.

    What we need from you

    • Your menu

Every item and its price. Sizes, extras and choices if you have them — "with or without egg", "mild, medium or hot".

    • Your opening hours

Including the days you are closed, and how long a typical order takes to make.

    • Your address and cellphone

So your customer knows where to collect and can phone you if they must.

    • Your logo and your colour

If you have them. If you do not, your name in your colour is enough to be yours.

    • Who needs a login

The owner, and any managers or staff who will work the orders board.

    • Whether you are a VAT vendor

If you are, we need your VAT number so it shows on the order. If you are not, nothing about VAT appears anywhere.

  2. Two

    We set it up

When we have the menu in hand we tell you the day it will be ready. It is days, not weeks.

    What you get back

    • Your own address

Something like yourname.tafula.co.za, in your colour with your logo. Nobody else’s restaurant is on the page.

    • Your menu, loaded

Categories, items, prices, and every size and extra, so the customer chooses exactly what they would say at the counter.

    • Your hours and collection times

The page only offers times you are open, and never sooner than your kitchen can make it.

    • Logins for your people

An owner login for you, and a login for each manager and staff member you named. What each one can do is below.

  3. Three

    You share one link

Put it where your customers already are. Orders arrive on your screen.

    Where the link goes

    • WhatsApp status
    • Instagram bio
    • Facebook page
    • The window
    • The till slip
    • The bag
    • Your Google listing

A new order makes a sound on the orders board. Whoever is on shift taps it through New, Accepted, Ready, Collected. The customer’s name and cellphone number are on the order, so you can phone when it is ready. Nobody needs to be shown twice.

What your customer sees

No app to download and no account to make. The whole thing is built to be fast on a cheap phone on a bad connection, because that is the phone your customer has.

  1. 1

    Open your link

Your menu, in your colours, loads light. Sold-out items say so instead of disappearing.

  2. 2

    Choose, with options

Size, extras, how hot. The price updates as they choose, so there are no surprises at the counter.

  3. 3

    Pick a collection time

Only times you are open, never sooner than the kitchen can manage. If you are closed now, they order for when you open.

  4. 4

    Name and cellphone, done

That is all we ask for. They pay you when they collect, cash or card, exactly as they do today.

Who on your team can do what

Three kinds of login. Give the owner’s to nobody, the manager’s to the people who change the menu, and the staff one to everyone who works the board.

Owner

Everything, including settings, branding and staff.

Manager

Menu, opening hours and orders. Not settings or staff.

Staff

The orders board, and pausing online orders.

The one exception

Anyone on shift can pause online ordering. When the power goes or the fryer dies, the person standing there is whoever is working, and they should not have to phone the owner for permission while orders keep arriving for food nobody can cook. Every pause and every restart is written down with who did it and why, so the record is the protection.

Changing things later

Prices go up. A supplier lets you down. You start opening on Sundays. None of that needs us.

Step one is an email with your menu attached.

A photograph of the printed one is enough to start.
